Grand Rapids-based company, Tech Defenders, whose focus is on the repurposing and reuse of pre-owned mobile devices, announced the acquisition of an IT asset disposition (ITAD) company, Device Renew.
Device Renew has been a customer of Tech Defenders for many years, and the acquisition will further fuel their ambitious growth initiatives.
“This partnership will further increase our share in the ITAD market.” said Garry Vonmyhr, CEO of Tech Defenders. “With our combined expertise in the industry, our customers can expect to see greater innovation and value in the services we offer.”
Michael Oberdick, CEO of Device Renew, has formally joined the Tech Defenders leadership team as the Sr. Director of Business Development. Michael brings along with him a dynamic team with vast industry expertise.
“The way we do things is not standard in the ITAD space we operate in, and that's what really makes this a great move for both our teams to keep disrupting the market in a really innovative way,” said Oberdick. “We are excited to join forces with Tech Defenders, and believe that combining our resources and expertise will lead to some industry-shaking results.”
According to Connor Sweeney, COO of Tech Defenders, the company will not be using the Device Renew brand but will continue to operate their facility in Bowling Green, Ohio as a secondary overflow facility. “The gradual integration of both companies will take place over the next few months, and our partners will continue to receive the same high-quality results which they have come to expect from Tech Defenders.” he added.
